About Worthing Cat Welfare Trust...

THE CHARITY WAS FORMED in July 1995 and granted charity status in October 1995. It consists of a team of experienced and professional carers watched over and supported by a board of trustees. In this environment we care for abandoned, sick and distressed cats, organising veterinary treatment, neutering, inoculating, micro-chipping, fostering, etc., and the fund-raising necessary to support these activities.

OUR SHORT TERM AIMS are to provide a safe and caring environment for abandoned, unwanted and distressed cats and kittens in the area, to arrange veterinary care and neutering, and to find loving homes for the cats wherever possible.
Prior to re-homing, the cats are cared for in a number of shelters, one of which is dedicated to the 'mums & kittens', and by a number of fosterers who take them in as part of the family.

OUR LONG TERM AIM is to provide a sanctuary for those cats who are unfortunately unsuitable for re-homing due to old age, illness or severe trauma, in order that they can spend the rest of their lives in safety and tranquillity.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE OVER 55 CATS IN PERMANENT CARE AND IN ADDITION, THERE CAN BE AS MANY AS 60 CATS & KITTENS IN TEMPORARY FOSTER CARE AT ANY TIME.
FOOD BILLS RUN AT AROUND £500 PER MONTH. VETS' BILLS SOMETIMES REACH AS MUCH AS £2,000 PER MONTH

FUND-RAISING Whilst our charity shop has proved to be a tremendous success, we continue with various other methods of fund-raising. Our regular monthly jumble sales are very well supported, and we hold table sales at various local charitable events throughout the year.

OUR CAT FOOD COLLECTION POINTS have grown steadily over the last year with a number of local traders very kindly displaying one of our colourful boxes to receive donations of cat food, and the number of delightful CASH COLLECTION BOXES has also increased and we are very grateful to all who give so generously

WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY IN A VERY SHORT TIME, THANKS TO THE CONTINUING DEDICATION AND HARD WORK OF ALL INVOLVED. OUR COMMITMENT IS TO THE WELFARE OF THE LOCAL CATS AND KITTENS WHO ARE IN NEED OF OUR HELP - AND THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE
