Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

SASHA January 2010 - April 2010![]() |
Added April 2010 We adopted Sasha (originally known as Tortie Amber) and her brother Pusskin (previously Ginger Tiger) age seven three short months ago. Sasha had a daily tablet to regulate her kidneys but nonetheless put on weight and flourished in the time we had her. Her decline due to advanced kidney failure was both sudden and agressive. We will always remember her as the loving, happy, beautiful cat we got to share our life with. Claudia and Jim |
MAGIC 1996-2010![]() |
Added February 2010 Magic was rescued and brought to me following a dreadful road traffic accident in june 1997. She thankfully made a full recovery from appalling injuries.l nursed her back to good health and l fell in love and adopted her. She was adored by us both myself and Tony and she enjoyed a long and protected ,happy life. Sadly,l noticed she was not at all well, and after lots of tests, it was found she had suffered a major stroke. She has gone to play with her friends at Rainbow Bridge. She has taken my heart with her..Rest in Peace little one. Sharon |
Marmite![]() |
Added January 22nd 2010 Marmite came to me from Worthing Cat Welfare at just 3 months old. She would have been 19 this May but unfortunately old age and cancer of the liver ended her comfortable life. Marmite went peacefully from her home with the help of our vet. She will be missed greatly as she was indeed part of the family. Part of me went with her. Love Sue xxxx |
Abi![]() |
Added January 22nd 2010 Abi came to us in November 2008 as a foster cat as she had been unable to find a home of her own, although a very pretty girl she was also a very timid one. She very quickly found a place in all our hearts and loved sitting on my lap and absolutely adored being brushed. Sadly she had more problems than were first apparent and we had to say goodbye to her earlier this month. Sleep well little one, we will miss you. Love Rose, Elliott and Beth. |
Mr Rush![]() |
Added March 26th 2009 Mr Rush came to live with me from Worthing Cat Welfare Trust in March 2006 and sadly had to be put to sleep just a couple of weeks ago as his heart failed. A beautiful boy who blossomed from a very timid and shy cat to a very affectionate and playful cat who loved to be picked up for cuddles. Sadly missed by his little sister Widget and by me – we like to imagine him as being reborn in Africa as a lion cub with a big family!! Liz |
Bailey![]() |
Added March 26th 2009 My beautiful Bailles came to me from Worthing Cat Welfare in August 2003 at just 8 weeks old. He came to me together with his identical brother, Bacardi. He was cruelly taken from me in a car accident in June 2008. A more loving and gentle brace of cats I could not imagine. Still very much loved and missed by me, but Bacardi now seems to have made a new life without his 'partner in crime' although it took him many months to move on. Sue Lipman |
Cookie (2007 - 2008)![]() |
February 7th 2008 Cookie is now at Rainbow Bridge after she lost her battle to survive a life threatening disease. She was only with me for such a short time 5 months to be precise but has left a large hole in my life as I had to do so much for her. Rest in Peace little one. Iris Cookie was yet another kitten born and looked after by WCWT. It doesn't matter how many go through our hands, each one holds a special place in our hearts. |
Humbug (1991 - 2008)![]() |
Humbug was helped to pass across on Thursday 24th January 2008. He had been poorly for some time and was on a cocktail of pills which he took with very little problem. During the last week of his life he was struggling breathing and the vets did all they could but finally it was decided that he couldn't carry on like this as it would only get worse. I like to remember him when he looked like he did in this photo. Thanks for spending the past 17 years with us. Rest now. Sue Lipman |
Charlotte![]() |
Charlotte came into my life in April 2000 after being rescued in London.
She was a wonderfully daft cat and used to have me laughing all the time. She went to sleep on 28 November 2006 because she was suffering from cancer and I very reluctantly let her go. I will miss her every single day. My gorgeous girl. Frances xx |
Baggins![]() |
It is with deep sadness that l have to announce the loss of my dear Baggins..... As the weather grew colder, he developed sudden breathing difficulties, and, after many visits to the vet for various tests and treatments, it was discovered he had developed a fast growing lump around his throat.. Because of his general, continuing decline in health, it was decided that he would not be strong enough to recover from a major operation. So, with great reluctance it was considered kinder to let him go with dignity ,rather than let him suffer. At least he had a good year of happiness with us, and had enjoyed a final, happy year of normal life. Good night, my sweet brave Baggins.xx Sharon (Worthing Cat Welfare Trust - Volunteer) |
