"Having had a cat or cats around since I was knee high to a grasshopper, I've always considered them to be an essential and welcome part of my home. This was confirmed in no small way when recouping from two serious illnesses and the cats sharing my home at the time hardly left my side until I was fit enough to go back to work (and earn enough money to keep them in the manner to which they had grown accustomed)."

"When I was 4 my mother knitted some beautiful clothes for a doll (and pram) she had bought me for my birthday. Dress, knickers, gloves and booties!. She wanted me to be girlie! Imagine her disappointment when I immediately removed all the clothes from the doll, dressed my cat in them, put the cat in the pram and took him out for a walk. I guess she knew then that she would never be a grand-mother!"

Known to my friends and colleagues as 'Catwoman', I am the proud Mummy of 3 beautiful cats who are the only known living creatures I don’t cop a strop with (I said it so I get away with it!!) Having grown up with dogs all my childhood I missed out on having a feline friend although I was always a comfy lap for my friends’ cats!! On a trip to Cyprus recently I was the Pied Piper of Cat World when all the strays followed me every time I left my hotel. Leaving them there broke my heart although the tourists probably feed them better morsels than my own spoilt rotten kitties. Even so, I couldn’t help but feel I needed to help these canny creatures and so I am delighted to have that opportunity in my own home town of Worthing!

'I have loved these felines since I was a young girl and my home wouldn't be a home without one or two....or five or more! They are beautiful and full of character and very entertaining watching them get into mischief. I enjoy being a volunteer with the charity which is very rewarding and good fun '
